May 24-27, 2013 - St. Mary's Polish Country Fair
The 2013 St. Mary’s Polish Country Fair was held Memorial Weekend, Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27 at the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Campus, 3535 Indian Trail, Orchard Lake, MI 48324. This makes two years in a row that Detroit Metro Mashup has attended and photographed highlights of the fair. According to St. Mary’s, the 2013 Fair is going to be at least the second largest revenue-grossing in their history. And we at DMM can attest that the place was thronged with people having a good time, riding rides, vying for prizes of all sorts, drinking and eating, and dancing to some really good bands.
This fair has about 40 acres of entertainment for the entire family; everyone from the stroller-driven to great-grandma can find something to do; the rides range from really nice and gentle to “there’s no freaking way I’m getting on that!” The G-Force scared us just watching it.
If you don’t like rides, or at least won’t admit it, you can to get some authentic Polish food in the food and entertainment tent or go shopping at the various vendors of clothes, purses, hats and a plethora of other items. Or you could try to knock over some bottles and try to win your sweetheart a stuffed bear on an apparently Angry Bird flamingo (we weren’t really sure if that is what it was).
