July 24-26, 2015 - Concours d’Elegance - Plymouth, MI

The Concours d’Elegance of America at the Inn at St. John’s Plymouth, MI was held for it’s 37th annual year on Sunday July 26, 2015.
This year they honored Bruce Meyer, as the "Enthusiast of the Year." He brought his 1929 Bentley 4.5 liter, a Ferrari Testa Rossa, and a 1962 Cobra (the first production Cobra), among other cars from his famous collection!

One of the more interesting displays this year was the funeral coaches and I believe the only vehicle on the grounds without an engine was a horse driven coach, the 1893 Cunningham Carriage Hearse. Another show favorite was the 1923 Detroit Electric 97B Brougham, built by the Anderson Electric Car Company in Detroit. Powered by 14 six volt batteries, seven in front and severn in back, it’s driving range is about 50 miles, at a top speed of 25 mph.

It seemed as though this year there was a larger percentage of cars that people can actually drive rather than only collect and show; although there were impressive numbers of both.

During the same weekend and on the St. John’s grounds, the Italian Happening and RM Sotheby’s auction were held in conjunction with the Concours.
We have separated out the events photographically, so check out our other event links to see those.

Be sure to mark your calendars for next years Concours d’Elegance of America, scheduled to take place July 22-24th, 2016.
